Hi all. I've installed FreeNas on an old computer in hope i can use it as a NAS drive. Before i go ahead and buy some HD's to create a nice raid config, i thought i try the concept with one unused HD i happen to have. The install wen't great and i am in the web GUI on my computer. I have set up an apple share and turned it on. I see "freenass" in the left column in the "finder" window, but when i click on it i have to sign in (connect as). When i enter the admin details i used on the freenas server it tells me the login details were incorrect. Regardless, i don't want to have to login to access the drive im sharing. I want all users to be able to read, and just me to be able to write.

Can someone please explain how i accomplish this? Sorry if this has been covered, i did try searching first. I also had a read through the Wiki setup guide, but i couldn't see what i wanted.

Thanks,
Chris

I think you need to specify either an existing group or create one while you're creating the user.

No, that shouldn't be the case, because new group for the user is checked. Not sure what the issue is - you're on 8.2.0-RELEASE p1 right?
