Storage Config Suggestions

I have 24 2TB Drives, I usually keep two for hot spares.

With 22 left, We are using this server strictly just for the purpose of ZFS Replicated Snapshots.

What would the recommended config be?

Would a 22 Drive Z3 Config be reliable or 2 11 Drive Z2 Volumes?

22 drives wide is probably a bad idea. Go with 2vdevs of 11 drives in raid z3

Why Z3 vs Z2?

11 disks with only 2 disks as redundancy is really pushing the reliability. Most people around here will tell you z3 with that many disks in a vdev.

ok, so instead of the two spares would it make sense to go with 12 disks in z3?

Do you have easy physical access to replace drives? If you don't then you will want spares. If you do then I would suggest 3vdevs of 8 drives in raid z2 for a total of 24 drives.
