Is this the correct way to set up striped mirroring? (See attached image)

My understanding is that this will give me reasonable write speeds and good read speeds?

This server is used both for longtime backup and daily use.

Would you guys recommend another pool-setup?

My hwspecs are:
4x Exos X16 16TB
1x Wd black SN750 500GB SSD for caching
32GB non ECC DDR4 Memory
Core i7 9700 CPU
Dell PERC H200A in IT mode Sata/sas interface.
Intel x550 T2 NIC
MSI MAG z390 tomahawk s1151 M/B.

Yes, maybe and depends.

Are you equating "speed" with throughput or IOPS.

Have a look at this article published by iX.

It would be helpful to provide more details about what you want to do. What do you mean by daily use?

Many tasks do not really need maximum possible throughput. For instance, routine backups or serving media via Plex does not push the limit of any reasonable RaidZ configuration.

FYI.... I've just managed to be wrong on something on FaceBalls, it made me come and re-learn ZFS and performance stats! LOL... Anywho, the linked PDF document is wrong. For some reason, the stats on mirrored vdevs is wrong. I looked back and re-ran the numbers and someone has messed up somewhere.

Just posting this incase someone else is wondering why the math doesn't work out!
