SMB1 Lost Upgrade from 11.3-1 to 12U6 How do I test if it's working

I have two smb1 media players that work fine until the upgrade to 12U6 now nothing.
In Services > SMB > SMB1 support is ticked and so is NTLMv1

At the clients previously I would see Workgroup > Freenas > shares but now no Workgroup nothing.

I can ping the clients so I'm connected to them.

Is there anyway I can test to see if SMB1 is actually working or how to fix this. 5 hours and I still have no clue.

Did you restart the SMB service after ticking SMB1 support?

You made me laugh! After five odd hours I needed a laugh. Needless to say I found the cause, and as you answerd I was about to delete the post but I'll leave incase others get hit by it.

Solution: Between my 11.3_U1 and 12_U6 a new setting must have been installed. 'Network > Global Configuration and tick NetBIOS-NS
This setting advertises SMB to dumb clients. How secure it is who knows?

Knock on wood.

There are no known issues with the netbios name server. I don't see it as particularly problematic to enable it. SMB1 has more of a mixed history vis-a-vis security. ntlmv1 is horrible (and required by some vendors of IOT media players). At present we don't have a timeline for deprecation of SMB1 protocol. SCALE and TrueNAS 13 will be based on Samba 4.15, which will be supported for approximately another 18 months.
