Hi,

I am looking to buy a dedicated UPS for my Freenas server. My current APC 1500 UPS doesnt seem to be playing nice so I would rather leave it for other computers & get something specifically for the Freenas box.

Any suggestions of something cheap that will be fully compatible?

THanks,
Rich

Cyberpower 685AVR: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00095W91O/?tag=ozlp-20

This works great with the usbhid-ups driver for the UPS, and is of good quality, and is inexpensive. It would be very appropriate for a smaller FreeNAS (6 drives or less) where power is only lost occasionally.

I have a different model Cyberpower, the CP850PFCLCD. I liked the display and the pure-sinewave output. I have FreeNAS configured to do a proper shutdown if the power-outage exceeds 5 minutes (I couldn't get it to work properly based on remaining UPS time) which I've tested.

another for CyberPower CP685AVRG (390w UPS)

in my opinion no need for pure sine wave - costs nearly twice as much

Sir, the original poster specifically asked for the smallest, cheaper, UPS that we would recommend. There is no pure sine wave UPS on the planet that would qualify under those conditions.

im also looking for a UPS but im having trouble finding one in stock locally, are BRICS or SOHO Value supported ? -
eg. CyberPower BR650ELCD 650VA,

i have been looking but i cant find one with the same model number. http://networkupstools.org/stable-hcl.html
CyberPower Value 600EI-AU - would the drivers be similar to Value 600E?

thinking about getting that amazon one above but being the wrong adapter, perhaps get an adapter than power board.
