Hi, I'm looking to be able to have my server shutdown automatically if it exceeds a certian temperature, I have no expertise working with scripts so I am wondering - if It is simple - how can I make a shutdown script so my server will automatically shutdown if it exceeds 45 degrees, and send me an email? Any help is really appreciated. The server is just an old toshiba laptop with one hard drive.

Regards

As per the forum rules (in red in the middle of the screen at the top) please specify your environment. Without those details nobody will be able to help you.

Hi all, thanks for the feedback. The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite C50D-A with 4GB of ram and a 500gb single HDD. I found a script to make the function I am looking for work, but I have no idea what values to enter and where. I have attached the script below. It would be enormously appreciated if someone could fill out the script for me - or tell me what to type where. The values I would like is "yellow alert at 43 degrees" and "red alert (shutdown) at 45 degrees" Many thanks, if you need anymore info please ask. Cheers
