Short FileName

Hi

I have a program that we have always stored the DB files for on our NAS. In the latest few versions of the program, we now get an error saying.
The volume in which your database resides has been modified so short filename support is disabled. Please re-enable.

Is there a way to do this on freenas? Files are on a CIFS share.

Do they mean mangling filenames to force 8.3 filenames? Why would that be necessary for anything written in the past 20 years?

Samba defaults to mangled names = yes

.mangled_names = MANGLED_NAMES_YES

So 8x3 support should be enabled.
