Hi,
Not sure if this post should go here or in storage, but it's a permissions question.
I have multiple FreeNAS boxes and I'm stumped... I'm writing data to a FreeNAS volume from and AFP share. On an older FN box everything is or seems to be fine. I switched which box OS X was writing to on the 27th. No new data came on the 27th.
On the 28th, new data written has the permissions of:
dwrxr-sr-x.
What causes the setgid bit to be set????? Is it a setting in FreeNAS?
The following is really interesting:
If I ssh into the FN box (from my OS X machine) and manually create a directory, then ls -la, permissions are drwxr-xr-x
If I am remoted into the OS X box that writes the files to FN, and create a directory in terminal following the share (mkdir /Volumes/cmi-pod01-Store2/cmi/archive/2013/5/zzz), permissions are drwxr-sr-x (from my ssh session from my OS X box)....BUT the OS X box that writes to FN sees it as drwxr-xr-x
What's going on???
