Server tips and tricks! Help

Hi guys got finally my server running. Now i want to add to my server for saving costs. That i can startup my server and shutdown when i am away from home.
Does somebody know how to do that and point me in the right direction

WHere can i find other tricks and greatful tips

in my opinion freenas is not this type of os you switch off.
just leave it running 24/7

I also wouldn't recommend the startup/shutdown route. That kind of defeats the purpose of a server. In any case you can look into spinning down your HDs when its not in use.
