I have FreeNAS 8.0.1-RC2 up and running without apparent problems, and now I'm trying to get it to talk with my UPS. I have a Belkin F6C1500-TW-RK, and my FreeNAS server is connected to its serial port (I have another server connected to its USB port). My question is simply, how is the serial port designated in FreeBSD?

I found a FreeBSD FAQ that indicates that it should be /dev/sio0, but I have no sio* entries in /dev. Here's what I've found in dmesg:

Code:
[dan@freenas2] /dev> dmesg | grep 3f8
uart0: <16550 or compatible> port 0x3f8-0x3ff irq 4 flags 0x10 on acpi0

You know, reading the docs might have been a good idea... The wiki suggested /dev/cuau0, which I've entered, and it seems to be working--I'll need to test things like unplugging the UPS to make sure, but it's looking promising.
