its been about a month of off and on trying rsync.
I run rsync on both machines.
I can not get my truenas to pull to back it up.
my arch machine won't let truenas pull.
but i can ssh in arch from truenas and vis versa.
I have enabled ssh port 22 on arch to get through my firewall and even opened port 3026 for fun even though ssh is port 22.
What am I doing wrong?
I don't understand how I can ssh into both machines but i can't get rsync to work.
I have followed stuff on youtube, these forums, and arch wiki and I am still unable to get it to work.
help would be appreciated.

This post is vague. Rather than trying to decipher the crux of the problem, can you lay out more clearly what you are trying to do?

Why are you referring to "enabling" ports at all? This is all over a local network, yes?

I apologize,
I am trying to get rsync to pull from my arch machine so I can back up arch to my truenas scale.
I’m attempting this via ssh.
I have a firewall enabled on my arch machine but I have allowed my server access to my arch machine via ssh on port 22.
I can log into my server via ssh on my arch machine.
I can also ssh into my arch machine via the server.
I cannot schedule a task to pull from my arch machine as it gives me an error.
I’ll have to take a screen shot.
I have rsync on both machines.
I have my public key from the truenas in my authorized keys on my arch machine.

Essentially I want to schedule daily backups to my server and I can’t.
I have scoured the internet and these forums.
Nothing has helped thus far.
I hope this clears it up some.
Thanks in advance.

What if you try to manually run the rsync command from the Arch client to send to your TrueNAS server?
