Bear in mind that any VM datastore you place on a RAIDZ2 pool will be fairly slow. For VM's that aren't doing much it shouldn't be a problem, but you need to imagine that it is only capable of ~100-200 IOPS in order to understand the nature of the performance you'll get (even if the actual IOPS performance might be a bit better than that).

Just trying to set realistic expectations.

OK, so just to be clear this is what I should be doing to follow the recommended 2 Z2s, correct?
