I am currently building my first NAS using a Atom C3558 (the same one which is used in the Freenas Mini e+). I bought myself a single 16 DDR4-2133 ECC UDIMM and tried it using memtest86+ 5.01. While I fortunately do not get any errors I noticed that the transfer speed is quite low:
Memtest shows 5116 MB/s, sysbench with a ubuntu 20.04 startup disk only shows 2678 MiB/sec. I read up that DDR4-2133 in theory should have 17000 MBytes/s so I am wondering why my memory is so slow? Is that to be expected with this setup? Does anyone with the same processor already tested their RAM speed?
