Are there any plans of adding QoS support into the FreeNAS GUI ? I don't know of a way in BSD CLI but I am sure there must be a way to specify the QoS for either 802.1q/802.1p or DSCP or all of the above. It would be nice to have control of qos markings since its mandatory in today's real world Enterprise Data Centers, particuarly for iSCSI. Without this ability all return traffic from FreeNAS is unmarked despite originating traffic being properly marked. While doing it in the network is a solution and only one today it would be nice to have host level support of DSCP/CoS markings like our Enterprise cousins.

Yep, would be cool, if I could use DiffServ for my LAN services on the FreeNAS box, too.
(I'm just using it on my internet uplink for now, in the hope that my ISP is somehow honoring the DSCP flags... :o)

Also enabling ECN by default might be worth considering.

My recommendation would be to put in a ticket at bugs.freenas.org and request this feature.
