I have a feeling you have no network connection (other than the loopback that's shown there), so NTP can't contact the servers and syslog is crashing (probably for the same reason).

What are you seeing in terms of symptoms on the system? That post doesn't give a lot of context.

Can you ping 8.8.8.8 from the NAS host? (hey look I managed to cross NANOG with TrueNAS)

Some networks have been firewalling port 123 which can break ntpd.

So you have connectivity, but perhaps ntpd isn't syncing. Post the results of "ntpq -p" and/or review the following thread:

After the lates update for TrueNas came out I updated my test bench, two days after the release.. Noticed I didn't get an errors. Not thinking anything of it, I was getting errors on my main machine, I looked up this error and tired a few things, noted in this thread. After updating my main machine I wasn't getting this error..

I've had multiple issues with the default NTP servers that TrueNAS Core uses (i.e, freebsd.pool.ntp.org).

Under System -> NTP Servers, I only use us.pool.ntp.org, and I've been happy ever since.

The same is true for a friend's TrueNAS server that we built for them. Same issues with the default NTP servers. We deleted them, then added us.pool.ntp.org as the only server to use. No problems ever since.

EDIT: Obviously if not in the United States, use what is applicable for your location.

Could you change the subject of this thread to "NTP questions" or similar? Thanks.
