Hi everyone,

I have a friend in a different city, who uses FreeNAS 9.10 U2. We would like to be able to transfer large (4Tb +) amounts of data between us.
My internet connection is poor, only 200k up.
I'm building my own FreeNAS server and am wondering if I create a 3 or 4 disk Z1 pool then pull the drives and courier to him, will he be able to import the pool and access the data?

Thanks

As people above said: Yes. Just don't like to open my server, install hardware, remove hardware, ... Murphy's law, :D

That's why hot swap bays are handy. That, and when you're evacuating ahead of a hurricane... Oh, and I guess for replacing failed disks...

In this scenario you will be reading on my shirt: Try to catch-up and that will be the back of it ;)

At least you generally get some heads-up about hurricanes, so we were able to pack up important stuff and head your way for the weekend.

Yeap, but not aways. Today I lost one ups and one TV box and they were behind arc fault breakers. Come on down to Atl anytime.
