Hey guys,

I have a spare HDD and currently use 9.2.1.9 with a Jail.
The HDD is doing nothing and not part of my main pool.

What my question is, can I use this spare drive to hold my SABnzbd/CP/SB/HP jails instead of using my main pool?

If so how would I initialize the drive for this?

Yes. I don't know if you can move your current jails though.

I would suggest...
  1. Create your new zpool on the harddrive
  2. Delete all installed plugins & jails
  3. Jails > Configure set the jail location on the new zpool
  4. Install your jails & plugins

Thanks, and can i access the main pool via the jails too?

As in after something downloads to move it over to the main pool?

Yes, by mounting in the dataset as explained in the Jail documentation.
If you do this, there is some performance benefit to having sabnzbd process to a different set of spindles. This means having your incomplete and complete download location on different zpools.
