I recently bought a bunch of 6048R-E1CR36N (SC846 chassis) servers; see link.
I have 9207 IT mode controllers for them which I tried hooking up to the SAS expander with an SFF 8087 to SFF 8643 cable and no drives display on the card. I am a total noob at this and have never worked with this amount of drives on this type of machine before. I followed the manual as best as possible, but I do not seem to be able to get them to display.
Could using this type of cable be a problem? Is there a specific port I am supposed to connect the card to on the SAS expander?
