I realize a similar question has been posted in the past but I want to insure the answer is relevant to Scale.

I have 12x 4 TB SAS Drives installed on a PowerEdge R720XD running Scale beta with ZFS Z2. I have a new(er) PowerEdge R730XD that I'm going to install Scale Beta on and would like to physically move and import the 12 drives onto the new server.

I assume that the new node will detect the drives and I'll be able to import them HOWEVER, if that import process fails, will I inadvertently corrupt my data?

Thanks in advance

The import won't damage your drives, you should be able to move them around in this manner just fine :)

Be sure not to upgrade any new pool features. It's a manual step to update the features your ZFS pool can use. In general, unless you need a specific feature, I'd not update a ZFS right away. Doing so can make recovering using older ZFS software that does not understand that feature.
