I checked my pfSense box yesterday and the dashboard indicated there was an update available.
Since there was no one home but me, I decided to update to the 2.3-RELEASE while I had the
chance to avoid getting fussed at ;)

After the reboot, I logged back in to see a warning that the newest version had dropped NUT
from the supported services  this was an issue for me as I was using pfSense as Master
for my CP1000PFCLCD UPS.

The good news is that the UPS unit now seems to work without issue with FreeNAS-9.10-STABLE

What the &*!@????

They say it's "not yet converted", which isn't quite as bad as "nope, not supporting it", but it's still an egregious omission, especially because they're also dropping apcupsd.
Unless I seriously missed something, this leaves pfSense with no UPS support until NUT gets ported to the new package system.

On top of all this, my area is in for thunder storms over the next three days. *long sigh*

Ditto from OKC area. About time for us to hit tornado season. During tornado there are two types of people on the road: storm chasers and sysadmins. :)
This is the first time in 13+ years that I don't live in Moore. Hopefully the tornadoes don't follow me to the Mustang area...

LOL. We almost bought a house in Norman, but I got a new job in the Yukon area last year, so it didn't make sense. I <3 Norman though.

Nothing beats the adrenaline rush of watching a rotating wall cloud in your rearview mirror as you hurtle east from i35 down vacant streets with a briefcase full of last-minute hard drive backups after depositing another set in a giant fire/waterproof safe at work. :D

Cloud backups are for sissies.

I have been super lucky in Guthrie, had a wall cloud go over and hit about 15 miles east otherwise nothing, not even hail in the four years I have been here. Had a guy I knew that moved to Mustang from here last year and about a month after moving massive storms rolled through and he was without power for a day or two, not to mention all the stuff tore up and tossed around the neighbourhood.

With as many people from the area we should be able to get our own subforum, LOL.

I had no idea we had so many Okies here.

LOL, Yeah there was a guy on here at one point who had a system at home and work but have not seen him on in a while but it does seem like quite a few.

Okie here as well, right out of Tulsa!

Updating to 2.3,
I also forgot to clear my cache for PFBlocker/Squid. Still had connections to most sites and no problems with incoming traffic. But if I tried to go to a site directly the connection would fail.

I ended up just deleted all the plugins and reinstalling. Be sure to make a complete backup of 2.2 before making the switch. So in the event of failure you can reload a USB with 2.2 and import from the backup.

the NUT package for 2.3 is already underway - no exact date for release though. If you need to you can install it from the ports and setup manually although you won't get the pretty UI.
