Good morning.

I'm having a peculiar problem with my backup box.
The box is an old consumer grade crap box with a built-in Realtech nic. I added a Dual Intel® 82576 Gigabit Ethernet because I don't trust the Realtech one.
AND here comes the problems... for some reason, the Intel NIC will not show after the initial power-on of the system, only after I do a reboot will the intel be loaded.
This would not be a problem for me if this system would be online 24/7, but I only power this on for a few hours each week for the ZFS replication to do its work.

Anyone got any idea on why this is happening?

Sadly no, I'm thinking it has to have something to do with the configuration in BIOS. I was sure I had checked everything, but I guess not.
At the moment I'm on holiday, but I will take another look at it when I get back home.
