Hi Guys,

I've been playing around with rsync and zfs replication.

Does anyone know how to pause either of these functions? For rsync I normally kill the process, however for ZFS replication I'm reluctant to kill the SSH process.

Thanks,

You can safely kill the process without losing data. You may have to reboot the destination box to get it to start working properly again though. There's no pausing replication though.

rsync is different. You can kill it. You might lose data though depending on your settings with rsync, but you likely won't have to reboot to get the next rsync run going later.

Neither one are things you should be considering killing as a course of business. Schedule them after-hours or throttle them as necessary using the various WebGUI settings and let them just run. ;)

Well that killed the initial seed that was in-progress and 4TB of data...

Its a shame there is no means of pausing, what is in progress. Thanks for the post.
