You say you have invaluable data on there, yet you have half the recommended RAM (8Gb min), hopefully someone else can provide some insight. Hopefully this doesnt turn into a "lesson you learned the hard way"

Best you can do is add more memory and cross your fingers. Have you always been on 9.3 or did you upgrade? If you upgraded try going back to the older version you used.

There are minimum system specs for a reason and you now know the reason.

I will buy more 4GB, and will test. I used always works 9.3 If not is there any other way to recovery?

You will have to do research on that but it could cost you $15-$25k. There was a blog post recently that was linked in a thread last week about zfs recovery. But zfs recovery doesn't really exist in any easy way.

UGH.

This *is* a pretty bad build---AMD Sempron, not enough RAM, not ECC RAM, not enough hard drives to actually make a proper NAS, and so on.

HOWEVER, that being said, I would have expected this to boot. He *does* have 4GB, and he seems to claim that it was working with 9.3 previously, if I read him correctly.

I expect something is actually WRONG with his hardware; something has failed.

This looks like a trashed zpool. Probably the result of not having the minimum RAM.

This sure smells of "self inflicted failure" by not meeting the minimum requirements or using in appropriate hardware.

In this case the trashed zpool might only be freenas-boot though, or there's other corruption causing the panic. You might be able to recover with a fresh install of FreeNAS to a new USB stick, add 4GB more RAM, and then import your pool.

But if that is only a single drive, any data that is corrupted won't be able to be recovered from mirror/parity. You very likely have data loss.

I just bought more 4GB RAM, I'll take the test and put the result.

Reinstalled system with 8gb ram, and imported the old hard drive and managed to save my data. Thanks for the help ones. I will adjust my system to a NAS future.

so was it adding the ram that fixed things or re installing FreeNAS?

I gather that English is not the OP's native language. We may be dealing with Google translate.

Yes, I am Brazilian I have no fluency in the English language. I use google translator.

I guarantee that your English is better than my Portuguese. :)

There is a Portuguese-language section of the forum but it is definitely less active than the English one.

Glad to see things have improved. Please take care and make some backups of your critical data to an offsite (cloud storage) or offline (multiple DVD copies) as soon as you can!
