Hello!

(How do I restore my freenas from shell)

So about 3 weeks ago I wanted the old version of Freenas because it was easier to access the storage. I think I did a downgrade to Freenas 11.1-U6 from 11.2 (Note that this was around 3 weeks ago so I can't remember which version it was. I tried to access the system tab and then version tab but since it says OperationalError I cant access a lot of thing inside the internet browser. I have a total 4 files of which I downloaded before everything wrong. The gyazo shows which versions I have. (Check the gyazo https://gyazo.com/d07b5e843d90c96ddc20e3127f40a61e) . So my question is, which one should I use to restore everything and how do I do it via shell? Since I can't do it the normal way. And will anything be destroyed on my drives when I do the restore?

Plex which has it files inside the freenas works, same with MineOS but it wont show up on the Network tab on my computer

The issue you are having is that the 11.2 config file has settings/data that 11.1 does not know how to handle. If you backed up your config file before the upgrade to 11.2, you could restore that. Otherwise, reinstall a fresh copy of freenas 11.1 (disconnect your data drives first!) and rebuild your config from scratch. All of your data will be safe on your pool.

I have Freenas 11.0-U4 file which was downloaded several months ago. Don't know if that will work. If it does, then how will i restore? Shell is the only option I can think of or maybe installing it manually via USB or something

You don't. Unless you damaged your pool all of your data is still there. Just setup the fresh clean install and import your existing pool.
WARNING, DO NOT USE THE WIZARD OR THE VOLUME MANAGER.
Thanks for info, will get my brother to help with that and then I will watch and will get some tips and tricks from him :) Then I might be able to do it myself next time :P

As long as you are doing a clean install, you might as well use 11.1-U6, which is the latest update to 11.1.

If you saved the configuration from your 11.2 install, then you can certainly do a clean install of 11.2 and restore the configuration. For some reason, I thought you were not happy with your 11.2 installation and considering to reinstall 11.0-U4.

Main reason why I tried to downgrade is that I could access storage much easier so I could change somethings with MineOS.

I don't know why it would be easier to access storage from the older version, but if you find it easier to access storage from the older version, then that is what you should use. Overall, the main downside to 11.1-U6 is that the old GUI does not show iocage jails - which means you have to create them and manage them from the command line. Not that big a deal if you are willing to work from the command line. Search a few threads on the forum to learn more about this.

The latest release of 11.2 is 11.2-beta3 which means it is still in beta.
