I'm not real sure where to put this since NUT (UPS) is a service not a plugin but I'm needing to get net to work via SNMP. Currently my configuration is

UPS Mode: Master
Identifier: Tripp2200UPS
Driver: Various ups 3 (various) SNMP - RFC 1628 (snmp-ups)
Port: (UPS address)
Auxiliary parameters: Comunity = ********
snmp_version = v1
mibs = ietf
Pollfreq = 30
Description: TrippLite
Shutdown mode: UPS goes on battery
Shutdown timer: 300
Monitor User: *******
Monitor Password: ********
Remote Monitor: Disabled
Send Email Status Updates: Enabled

I had it working on my firewall via snmp v2 and v1 at one point but a update broke that.
I have not been able to get it to work via snmp on FreeNAS with snmp v1, 2, 2b or anything else for that matter.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Which version of FreeNAS? Can you give an example of a failed usage with its error message?

Forgive me, I did forget to post that information.

FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201412090314

The error in the console is.....

Jan 5 14:14:56 storage notifier: Starting nut_upslog.
Jan 5 14:14:56 storage notifier: Warning: initial connect failed: Connection failure: Connection refused
Jan 5 14:14:58 storage notifier: Stopping nut_upslog.
Jan 5 14:14:58 storage notifier: Waiting for PIDS: 16634.
Jan 5 14:14:58 storage notifier: Stopping nut_upsmon.

The error via email is.....

COMMBAD - ups

Obviously it's a communication error but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've tried everything I can think of. I'm running Spiceworks network monitoring and it even sees the device via snmp.

Try restarting the driver manually

Doesn't it restart the driver on reboot and doesn't starting the service restart the necessary resources?
I've had the above configuration for quite some time and if I try and start it now it still doesn't work.
Are there any ports that need to be opened. Anyone else have any ideas?
How would I go about restarting the driver?

Update:
Come to find out that with the 9.3 update that nut is fixed. Apparently I had the address wrong because I had since changed the ip address of my UPS since the last time I tried to use nut.
UPSC output is as follows....

upsc ups@localhost
battery.charge: 100.00
battery.current: 0.00
battery.temperature: 22.00
battery.voltage: 55.00
device.mfr: Tripp Lite
device.model: SU2200RTXL2U
device.type: ups
driver.name: snmp-ups
driver.parameter.mibs: ietf
driver.parameter.pollfreq: 30
driver.parameter.pollinterval: 2
driver.parameter.port: 10.10.10.210
driver.parameter.snmp_version: v1
driver.version: 2.7.2
driver.version.data: ietf MIB 1.4
driver.version.internal: 0.72
input.current: 0.00
input.frequency: 59.90
input.phases: 1.00
input.realpower: 0.00
input.voltage: 119.00
output.current: 0.00
output.frequency: 59.90
output.phases: 1.00
output.power.nominal: 2200.00
output.realpower: 704.00
output.voltage: 1199.00
ups.firmware: 10
ups.firmware.aux: Tripp Lite 3.0.35 (GAPI 2.0)
ups.load: 32.00

For anyone else that runs across this post at least they'll be able to use the above configuration to configure nut for snmp.
ups.mfr: Tripp Lite
ups.model: SU2200RTXL2U
ups.status: OL
ups.test.result: done and passed
ups.timer.reboot: -1
ups.timer.shutdown: -1
