In my case, I have set up a ZFS FreeNAS with a 1TB drive for the purposed of experimentation.

But I am getting REALLY weird stats from the FreeNAS box - saying it has 3.1TB of free space on a 1TB drive - does not compute.......

Add up the SIZE column.

...I don't get it.....

Even if you add up the AVAILABLE column, you end up with 2.85TB for a 1TB drive - What the F ?!???!!

All I really want, is an indication of how much space is left on the 1TB drive, but I can't find it. Can anyone help me understand this? It is probably a ZFS thing, and I am only familiar with Windows and NTFS, but even though - most Linux or Unix systems will still have a way to tell you how much space is used, and what is left, for any specific drive... :(
