No drives visible when I try to create volume

Hi! I have n00bily been trying to create volumes in Freenas for a while. For some reason I am unable to get a list of the drives installed.

I have four identical drives installed (samsung spinpoint 750gb), and they all show up in post and in bios. The box has been used as a windows home server, so I thought perhaps it was due to some formatting. I deleted all partitions on them, but I still cannot see any drives in the volume creator.

Any tips on how to go about this? Where do I start troubleshooting?

Oh noes, that doesn't sound good :) Is this a purely hardware related problem, or is there a possibility of a solution in the future, do you think? ... or is it something I can fix myself?

A fix would have to come from FreeBSD upstream, so not very likely until FreeNAS8 switches to a newer version of the base OS. I "solved" this problem for myself by switching to a different motherboard. Now, I use this same motherboard which has problems in FreeNAS8, without any issues in FreeNAS0.7. If it is an option for you, I would suggest you try installing FreeNAS0.7 to see if it works for you.

Ok, thanks for all the replies :) I will perhaps give freenas 7 a try, then. Too bad though - because I really liked the freenas 8 interface and it's simplicity. Not to mention freenas8 is the new shiny one. Oh well, if everything goes wrong I can always revert to the old whs setup :P

Sorry for the late suggestion, but have you tried disabling AHCI in your BIOS?

Also, RC2 was just released today, can't hurt to give that a try.
