No Authentication Model options shown

FreeNAS 9.2.1.2-RELEASE

Access to some of my shares became impossible recently, and I am trying to reconfigure everything.

According to the docs., when I create a share I am supposed to choose between Anonymous and Local User authentication, but I see no such option. I see a note that this option is unavailable if LDAP or Active Directory is running: as far as I know, neither of these services is running, but I cannot find any way to tell -- where do I look?

That's right around the time some of my CIFS shares became inaccessible. What else changed that could have caused that?

What I had to do to access the inaccessible shared resources again is delete those shares, then reboot, then recreate them, then stop and restart the CIFS service.
