Been running FreeNAS 8.3.1 for several years on 2 NAS boxes, each containing 5, 3TB hard drives with a 30GB SSD drive for my boot device. Devices have been running great. Usual HD failures, replacement as per the manual with absolutely no hiccups whatsoever. Decided to upgrade these boxes to 9.2.1.5 but before doing so, thoroughly read the manual and other available documentation. Knew that I would no longer get the nightly zpool status but do get bombarded with the following on a nightly basis (had to prune it to 30k chars). Is there a way to turn this off? May have missed it in the manual. Also, the upgraded NAS randomly slows down considerably. Even the web GUI becomes unresponsive. The motherboard is an old ASUS with an on-board AMD 1GHZ dual core processor with 8GB memory. I realize that the FreeNAS team doesn't like ASUS. However, needing 6 sata ports does limit ones options. Any insight regarding the nightly security output would be greatly appreciated. I realize the "slowdowns" will be impossible to troubleshoot via these forums.

That's basically the boot log that gets mailed when you reboot. Are you sure this is happening every night? Same time each night? Do you have the machine scheduled to reboot every night?

I doubt anything can be done to speed up the system with an AMD C-60 CPU.

I had a similar experience of slow writes in freenas 9 (9.2.1.2) as compared to freenas (8.3.1). I'm using CIFS SMB shares, with similar issues copying from Mac or Windows. I noticed that I can't drag and drop a large numbers of photos into a freenas 9 box like I was doing in freenas 8; the copy process would fail. My freenas 9 box (Core(TM) i3-4130 CPU @ 3.40GHz/12Gb RAM), the freenas 8 box (AMD A4-3400 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics@ 2.7GHz/16 Gb RAM). The write performance impact was really noticeable. I've just upgraded to 9.2.1.5 hoping that the write performance is better.
