NextCloud permissions

Hello, I have NextCloud Jail installed and running, I shared /mnt/Disk1/iocage/jails/nextcloud/root/usr/local/www/nextcloud/data/root/files and use SMB \\freenas\NextCloud\Documents to upload files, but now I can't see these files on NextCloud web..... I guess this are permission mistake.... how can I resolve?

You need to let Nextcloud manage it’s own data and use external storage to include SMb shares. Everything Nextcloud creates is created with the user www. So it needs group level access to the SMB dataset (or what ever ACL scheme is appropriate if Windows permissions are used)

How hard is it to change the user? All my SMB and jails are all under 816 and I have struggled to get this to work so I can upload pictures from android phones. Thanks

How do I change the NGINX user?

I have a PHP script that creates a directory and outputs an image to the directory. This was working just fine under Apache but we recently decided to switch to NGINX to make more use of our limite...

As @garm has said this is not how NextCloud likes to be used, but it is possable to get NextCloud to re-scan the SMB folder occ files:scan --all will do the trick (if all permisions are ok)

I am going to reinstall it. It works great except with instant upload. cant figure out how to mount it to be able to see the pictures in a cif share. my older version worked great ... once i switched to iocage is when all my problems happened.
