New to freenas and iscsi need help in configuration of iscsi target to allocate equal 100gb disk.

Hi

I am new to freenas and iscsi.

I have installed 2tb of box. On 250 gb i have OS and 2x2tb as mirror for data.

So in total will have around 1.8 tb for user.

I had tired successfully to create iscsi target with device for local network authorization and no authentication.

Even on one initiator I was able to get disk in disk management.

But here problem is this initiator gets full 1.8 tb of disk. And this is problem I have.

Now fact is I have 11 user who will be using this storage and in all this 11 user I want disk of 100 gb only and not full 1.8 tb.

Can you please help me how can I do this . here in my case when Iinitator gets disk it gives full 1.8 tb and not 100gb.

Does this requirement is possible in device or I need to do file extent.

You will need to make 11 100GB zvols and add each as an extent in iscsi

Thanks for your reply.. So with 11 zvols of 100 gb it also need to create same number of targets ?

That's up to you. You can have many luns per target or one per target. How ever is simpler to keep track of who get what one.
