New to FreeNAS 11.2 and Plex

Hi, I recently built a NAS machine and installed FreeNAS for the first time.

I have never used Freenas or the FreeBSD system before and would like some help. I have created my ZFS Raid and have a folder accessible on my Windows PCs where I can move and store files/folders however I can't seem to install Plex Media Server. I appear to have FreeNAS 11.2 BETA installed which I got from the FreeNAS website. I can't seem to use the Legacy UI to install plex as all the tutorials would suggest. In the new GUI I navigate to the Available Plugins list, click Install on Plex Media Server and I recieve this error. I am unsure how to proceed and would really appreciate some help.

Well, you're running a beta, since iX has inexplicably decided to promote the beta as teh new hawtness on its download page (11.2 hasn't been released yet). And betas have bugs, and installing plugins appears to be among the bugs in -BETA2. You should be able to make a jail through the GUI and then install Plex at the command line (it's literally four commands).

Thanks, I appreciate your response but I really haven't got a clue what im doing. I can follow instructions but I really don't know what commands and steps to take to install plex and the jail manually.

OK, then install 11.1-U5 (the latest actual release version), and install the Plex plugin there.

Can I do that without losing my current storage setup ie. all the files currently on the NAS?

Yes, that's why your files are stored separately from the OS.
