All,

I have a question/problem. I am running Freenas 11.3-U5, followed the steps in the documentation, replaced a 10TB drive on Monday. The system has been saying Resilver is 100% but zpool status shows:

pool: vol1
state: ONLINE
status: One or more devices is currently being resilvered. The pool will
continue to function, possibly in a degraded state.
action: Wait for the resilver to complete.
scan: resilver in progress since Mon Oct 19 17:08:57 2020
285T scanned at 1.22G/s, 283T issued at 1.21G/s, 285T total
2.81T resilvered, 99.17% done, 0 days 00:33:37 to go

The problem I am running into is a user moved some new files yesterday to the freenas cifs share and they are not not showing up

Why would new files not show up while the disk/storage is resilvering? Is this normal? could the files be stuck in some cache somewhere and not written to disk?

Thanks

Resilvering should not affect files or shares like that, no. Resilvering chews up iops but doesn't block any read/writes.

Do the files exist if you check for them at the FreeNAS server command line? Perhaps not showing them is an SMB issue.

The files do not exist on the freenas sever when I goto the directory via command line. User said he got checksum confirmation that the file was copied to freenas.
