Hello,

I have been running FreeNAS 7.x version the last 3.5 years. Setup is a 4 disk 2 TB raid 5 (3ware 9650).

I am looking install the latest version of FreeNAS but this time running Raid 10 :). I remember for my last setup, I needed (wanted 3 partitions) so I had to use a utility to accomplish this. I remember it was done in a command line after I installed the OS into the usb drive.

For this new release, could I have many different volumes on one large disk and not to have to deal with partitions? I like to setup mine so it could be CIFS, iSCSI, NFS

Thanks

I have an existing raid card so I might as well use it.

Yeah.. that's not a good thought process. Read my presentation and you'll understand why.
