Mount Apple Sparsebundle in FreeNAS?

Hi,
I would like to try and mount sparsebundles on the FreeNAS box itself.
This way I can do long tasks on them (ie. searching), even with spotty connection. I am often remotely connected and that can corrupt the image.

Can this be done? I see fuse is available for FreeBSD, and there is this project:

Unfortunately, this is not possible in the base system.

However, you could try setting up a jail to do this.
