Memory not recognised

Dear forum,

I am building a NAS using a HP T620 thin client with a AMD GX-415GA SOC with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics .
It came with 1 bank of 4GB memory, so I added a 2nd bank of identical memory.
I am running an amd64 kernel, accoring to "uname -a"
The BIOS recognises 8GB of memory, as well as "grep memory /var/run/dmesg.boot"
However; Truenas only recognises 3.4GB (4GB).

I run Truenas latest version from the m.2 SSD, and have 5 HDD connected to it using RAIDZ1.

Can you help me, please?

TrueNAS Core or Scale? Is the SoC capable of actually addressing physical memory above 4 GB?

What does dmidecode say about your RAM?

One Samsung and one Crucial DIMM... I'm not saying it shouldn't work, but in the real world some systems are ridiculously picky about DRAM.

I know...
I swapped the memory modules between rank 1 and 2, but no difference.
Not sure if that made any sense, but I am in now way an expert and was just trying to eliminate unknown potential causes.

Other than the 2 different brands, everything looks fine, right?

Yeah, both models seem to be dual-rank DIMMs, so they really should work.

I just ordered another crucial memory bank, identical to the last one.
Maybe the issue is related to dual channel memory being best ordered in pairs...
I will let you know if this solved the problem.
