LSI MegaGAID SAS 9272-8i in JBOD mode

I just purchased a LSI MegaGAID SAS 9272-8i (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B081Q8SCLM) card.

There is a way to turn on JBOD mode and make the drives available to be seen by the O/S (tested in Windows 10 only).

Cold this be used for FreeNAS or is it a better idea to get a different card, or flash this one to be in IT mode?

Thanks for the link, very interesting for sure. So I ran the camcontrol devlist command and to me it appears that the O/S can see the drives. See attached images. I first testing the card with Windows to learn how to configure the various options, and Windows could also see the drives and manage them.

Is there a way to run some diagnostic tests against the disks to stress them and test for any errors before I add them to a Pool?
