Hi there. I just bought and received what supposed to be a "new" LSI 9207-8i on eBay. The serial sticker on the back was brand new but the rest of the board and stickers looked old and it was supposed to be shipped from Kentucky but came from California. I popped it into my desktop and here is the output of systool -a -v -c scsi_host | egrep "Class Device|model|version|proc_name|info|fwrev"
Code:
  Class Device = "host3"
  Class Device path = "/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:0b.0/0000:04:00.0/host3/scsi_host/host3"
    proc_name           = "mpt2sas"
    version_bios        = "07.39.02.00"
    version_fw          = "20.00.07.00"
    version_mpi         = "200.23"
    version_nvdata_default= "14010006h"
    version_nvdata_persistent= "14010006h"
    version_product     = "LSISAS2308"

I'm just trying to confirm that the LSISAS2308, 20.00.07.00 are correct? When I boot the computer I see the message that it's IT and 20.00.07.00. I should be good to go, correct?

These “new” HBAs are typically pulled from servers in a sweat shop in China, and then either shipped directly from HK or as in your case from CA.

It looks good to go to me.
