Hey guys, I'm having some difficulties on finding compatible HBA's to use with my FreeNAS build. I live in Brazil, so amazon and ebay are not good choices because shipping price is usually twice as much as the product's price. Chinese websites such as aliexpress, on the other hand, has some good price stuff with free shipping, so I'm looking for a SATA/SAS HBA in there.
Thing is, someone can tell me if this board will work on my FreeNAS system? Actually, does any HBA in JBOD mode work, or it depends on the chip? Where can I find a list of known supported HBAs?

Too many possibilities there, so I would have to say NO, not just any HBA will work.

Very much. Some things work reliably and others do not. For example, I would never suggest using anything from HighPoint, like their Rocket Raid cards.

Thank you. I read the Hardware Recommendations guide, the PDF file, and still has doubts. The second link of your post, Hardware Recommendations Guide, seems more clear.

AFAIK the 3081E-R does not support disks larger than 2TB
