LSI released P15 firmware for the 2008 card about a month ago. The 8.3 release notes loudly and clearly state that P13 is required for reduced-woe operation, so I have two questions:
- Will putting P15 firmware on my card endanger my data, given that the mps driver version in FreeNAS 8.3 seems to be strongly tied to P13?
- Are there plans to include the LSI P15 FreeBSD driver, which was released at the same time as the P15 firmware, in FreeNAS? Or will the mps driver -- which may or may not be LSI's driver; can't really tell -- be updated?
