Hello,
a generell question: Do I have to lock the raid-z pools before shutdown? Or is it suggested? If so, is there a way to do it over the shell with a code?

Thanks for help

What do you mean by "lock"? On clean shutdown, the caches are al flushed and the pool is dismounted just like any other filesystem.

I have a raid-z pool which is encryped. Before I´m shutting I´m able to lock it (when i log into freenas over the browser), is it necessary to lock/encryped the harddrivest before the pool gets unmounted on shutdown?

which is encryped.
Ah, that would have been relevant to have mentioned in the OP. But still: No, you don't need to; no, it isn't suggested; no, there isn't a (simple) way to do it from the shell.

okay that is really good to know. Because I wrote a script to decryped the pool (where I found lots of information in threads), but didnt find any code to lock it and was wondering. But makes it of course easier. Thanks for the help!
