I have had problems with the istgt becoming wedged requiring a hard reboot.
As the process will not respond to a kill, nor will it clear tcp connections
that have somehow become wedged.

I have seen others report this type of problem, but no real solution.
Seems to happen more if there is a hardware drive problem.... or if smart is runnin
