iSCSi serial not properly initialized

Seems no one has reported this "feature".
According to the man page:
Serial string unique ID for target to allow for multiple LUNs; the default is generated from the system's MAC address

But in my case in both FreeNAS 9.1 and 9.2 the default value is something like 1000001. Maybe it can't get the systems mac? So why not use kind of random generator?

So yours doesn't look like the field in Figure 8.7h? What type of NIC? Any VLAN config?

No vlan, though it's vmware's nic on esxi 5.5

It must be an esxi setting then. I have no idea which but someone else might.
