I was curious, is the recommended 80% max disk space utilization applicable to a single non-raid disk pool as well?

I have a single disk pool in my system that I use as a kind of catch-all for unimportant temporary stuff, just one of my old decommissioned disks; a burner disk if you will. If it dies it dies type of deal. BUT.. how terrible is it for it to occasionally get filled up? Will unpacking an archive file become a strenuous experience, fabled to be as slow as a floppydrive? Or does this only occur on raided pools?

Not sure if it bares relevance, but; TrueNAS-12.0-U8.1

EDIT : I had to ask openAI to get an answer, In case others find this post with the same question, ill paraphrase; This is only of real importance to arrays of disks where redundancy is a factor. For single disks it has less of an impact, though it's still advised to leave 5 to 10% to avoid defragmentation issues.
