The following alert message is appearing hourly in my logs:
freenasmini alert.py: [common.pipesubr:66] Popen()ing: /usr/local/bin/ipmitool mc info

This from my mini with its replacement motherboard just installed.

It's related to the command to check the ipmi firmware version "ipmitool mc info" but I'm uncertain of the relevance of the message or how to clear it. I speculate that it may be that the ipmi firmware version in the new board is not the same as the original and there may be a reference to the original version in /usr/local/bin/ipmitool?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks, Dru, for the pointer (I should have checked there ...)

This message does not show in Alerts (so no "uncheck" capability) nor by running alertcli.py in Shell - just shows in the Console.

The new board has a sticker indicating the 0.30.0 firmware and "ipmitool mc info" returns "Firmware Revision 0.30" (amongst other info).

In that case, it is probably worth creating a feature request to disable this check once it sees that the motherboard has been replaced or the system has been updated to the correct firmware (or at the very least, to add to the Alerts GUI so that you can uncheck it). Please create the feature request at bugs.freenas.org and post the issue number here.
