Overnight, my TrueNAS system completely hanged. The network drives were unavailable and the web page failed to load a signing form. I looked at the console output and saw some crashed Python scripts. I pressed the shutdown button, and saw the OS try to kill the processes but everyone timed out. Then it just stopped killing the processes and got completely stuck. I then force shutdown the server and it currently works fine.
My question is: Where can I find the log files? I checked /var/log/messages but there is nothing between the previous boot and the current boot. Has the log not been saved to the boot drive and is therefore lost or is there another log I can check?
