Installing fail2ban on FreeNAS 8

Hi,
I would like to have the same security level that i had with my Synology NAS.

Someone advised me fail2ban which is able to scan log files and ban Ip adresses that failed to authenticate.

I would need some help on how to install fail2ban on FreeNAS 8.
Also, fail2ban requires a firewall like iptables or shorewall

The FreeBSD port (security/py-fail2ban) adds patches for PF and IPFW support. I've added a PBI request so that it will be ready once the plug-in system becomes available: http://forums.pcbsd.org/showthread.php?p=90006

Sorry, i'm not familiar yet with FreeBSD. Does this mean it is possible to install fail2ban on FreeNAS 8 now, or do I have to wait for the plugin system?

If you're not familiar with FreeBSD, you may find it easier to wait for 8.1's plug-in system. In the mean time, search this forum for "jails" as there are some threads that demonstrate how to install additional software using this method.
