I have been following the progress of FreeNAS for a while.
Took the plunge and bought a HP Microserver, put 8GB of RAM in and 4 1TB drives.
It works like a charm with 8.0.1 RELEASE. 60MB/s write average and 80MB/s read average which is a huge improvement from the 21MB/s average on 8.0.0 RELEASE.
