Hi,
I downloaded FreeNAS as an experiment. I have built a nice system from one that had a CPU water cooler leak all over it. I replaced all the guts with new parts, but eventually put the old system together and diagnosed that only the graphics card was ruined.
So with a HD about to fail (from someone else's system) I installed FreeNAS and have been experimenting. Had to bypass the SMART check in the BIOS just to get past the POST. :)
I'm retired. Worked as a Mainframe Systems Programmer.
