I'm trying to find out how to update an SABnzbd installation that was performed through the FreeNAS Plugins menu (rather than Joshua Parker Ruehlig's PBI), but so far everything I'm finding is referring to the PBI installation version. It seems that within his version, there is a "sabznbd_upgrade.sh" script that is able to perform the update automatically. Is there a version of this script that's available that works for SABnzbd installed through the FreeNAS Plugins menu?

I've found a version of a script with the same name here, though I don't believe it will work as is (mostly because the directory structure is different within the jail that FreeNAS created than what he describes).

Any ideas on how to do the update? If Joshua Parker Ruehlig's script will work, is it available to download as a standalone script somewhere?

If you just want to update SABnzbd to 0.7.17 then run 'service sabnzbd update'

If you want to update the PBI it's more work. The only change in the PBI is I took advantage of 0.7.17's pidfile flag to simplify my init script. It's a minor change, and I only recommend updating the PBI if you want to. (It would require backup+reinstall+restore)

Hi,

I am running version 0.7.14 installed via a PBI but I cannot figure out how to upgrade to 0.7.17.
There is no sabnzbd_upgrade.sh file and if I try service sabnzbd upgrade I recive the message

Usage: /usr/local/etc/rc.d/sabnzbd [fast|force|one|quiet](start|stop|restart|rcvar)

Any ideas how I can go about upgrading? The plugin was installed on a pervious version of Freenas which was subsequently upgraded but my current version of Freenas doesn't show this plugin as installed in the GUI. At some point I had to ditch my old freenas config and start again (moral of that story: backup the freenas config regularly and buy EEC ram) which might explain why the GUI dones't know about the presence of the plugin.

I know it is a mess.

that version of the PBI wasn't made by me and I don't support upgrades from it. if you can find the data directory, back it up, then I recommend installing the latest version and restoring the data directory to /var/db/sabnzbd
